If there is one you want made we can do that too. Capt. Daniel Baker III will make all species of waterfowl and shore birds including herons. He also restores old birds (rebuild, repaint, rehead, etc.). He does a lot of appraisals too.

Capt. Dan learned how to carve and paint from his father D.O. Baker, Jimmy Pierce, R. Mitchell, Dave Walker, Charlie Bryan and Charles Pierce. He started collecting decoys in 1976 and carved his first working decoy in 1978. He specializes in Upper Chesapeake Bay decoys and collects John "Daddy" Hollys and John Grahams.

Capt. Dan developed his own style and technique for combining various paints to make the decoys more realistic. He is now the Chapter Carver for the Calvert County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and a Lifetime member of the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum.

His shop is located at 2735 Garrity Road, St. Leonard, Maryland and is opened to all who wish to stop in and see the time honored tradition of decoy making still in process.
